History
of Campeche
Some 25 years ago the municipality of Samaipata wanted to foster the town's development. Decided was to promote tourism to attract people from the city of Santa Cruz and national and international visitors.
For this the municipality donated land (which presently is Campeche) to various teachers from the German School in Santa Cruz under the condition that they should build bungalows on it. Among other things through this initiative of the municipality, Samaipata over the years has become a town with many facilities for visitors like restaurants, shops, bars, etc.

Campeche has developed itself into a nice park with some ten bungalows. We ( a Dutch family) have run the place for the last five years. Our most important aim is to offer you a pleasant stay at Campeche.

Furthermore we want our presence to become more and more unnecessary and our staff to take care of daily business. And in this they're succeeding. After five years we're able to more and more take our hands off Campeche and to work behind the scene; there is a good chance you won't even see us when you visit Campeche!
